John Perrottet
John Perrottet is a graduate of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia with an Honors Degree in Town Planning and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management. He has 25 years experience in international tourism development specializing in tourism planning, project development and project financing.
Formerly a Director of KPMG’s Tourism Sector Consulting division, John then spent several years with the International Finance Corporation, an affiliate of The World Bank, working as a senior advisor in the tourism sector. During his time at IFC he completed over 60 tourism projects including 30 project financing assignments. He has been a leader of the World Bank’s Tourism Advisory work across the globe and has consulted on tourism projects in over thirty-five countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and Oceania.
John works with governments, organizations and private clients to build their businesses including concept development, project planning, strategic development, financial structuring and project financing.
He has been an advisor to many governments as well as highly respected corporate and public sector organisations in Australia and around the globe helping them to develop and expand their businesses and industries with an emphasis on the tourism sector.
John continues to provide advice to the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation on tourism related matters.
He is a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association and is a faculty member of the Executive Development Institute for Tourism at the University of Hawai’i School of Travel Industry Management. He has been a member of the Tourism Promotion Authority of Papua New Guinea and a Councilor of the Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau. He has served on the boards of a number of educational institutions including, the Foundation for Education and Training which manages Kenvale College, an award winning tourism training college in Sydney.
