Dain Simpson
Dain Simpson is principal of Dain Simpson Associates, a professional consulting firm undertaking projects in the tourism and public sectors in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific. Past clients include the International Finance Corporation, APEC, the European Union, The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, AusAID, national and regional governments and many local authorities, working in the areas of tourism and economic development.
A former KPMG partner in Australia, he has extensive experience in feasibility studies for new tourism projects and in the review of government agencies at both State and Federal level. He has served on boards of corporations and associations in the tourist sector.
He has been closely involved in development projects across the Pacific. For four years Dain was consultant to CDE and participated in a number of investment marketplaces sponsored by the EU. He has wide experience in regional tourism planning and development and in tourism policy formulation. He has been involved in the development of visitor attractions, visitor activities, meeting facilities as well as accommodation.
He has worked in most Pacific Island states and in South East and Central Asia and been directly involved in investment projects in the Pacific, specifically in PNG, Fiji, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa, Palau, Tonga and the Marshall Islands.
